Quality Policy

Objective

The objective of the Quality Manual is to lay down the quality systems and procedures followed in the various stages of Design,Manufacture, Supply, Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of the products or systems supplied.

Production Planning

According to the drawings and specifications from R&D the Planning and Purchasedepartment shall proceed with the placement of orders for the following items.

  • Mechanical Fabrications
  • Printed Circuited Boards
  • Coils and Transformers
  • Active and Passive Components
  • Other Accessories

All vendors are registered on the basis of the following:

  • Exclusive registration formalities by proper evaluation
  • Techno-Commercial capabilities and efficiency
  • Time-bound delivery
Procurement

Purchase order will be raised with the vendor for procurement of mechanical items by providing allnecessary approved drawings.

Purchase order will be raised with the vendor for procurement of Electronic components as per the part list pertaining to the particulars equipment’s and accessories.

Inward Goods Inspection

Inspection of the incoming materials - Mechanical Items

Mechanical items shall be inspected at the vendors premises by the mechanical inspector.

Mechanical inspector shall check the mechanicalitems as per the approved drawings.

Following instruments shall be used for the inspection.

  • Vernier Calipers
  • Screw gauge
  • Industrial scale

In case of any non-conformity, the quality control person shall record it in the inspection report so that the lapses in the products may be rectified by refabricating or rework, by the vendor.

The vendor shall accordingly correct the lapses shown in the inspectionreport and shall dispatch the materials to the paint shop. However, these materials shall be inspected again at the paint shop to ensure the adherence to the points raised in the inspection report.

In case the vendor has not adhered to the inspection report, the same material shall be rejected and returned to the vendor with the cost and the consequences to be borne by the vendor.

After the fabrication the materials shall be inspected at the paint shop so as to conform the procedures are followed properly and the quality is maintained, the product will be dispatched to the factory, keep in corrugated boxes to avoid scratches in transportation.On acceptance of the materials, the materials shall be stored with the inspection report.

Inspection of the incoming materials - Electronic Components

The materials such as Active and Passive components shall be delivered to the factory directly

by the vendors. The quality control department shall check the components as follows:

  • Visual inspection shall be carried out for any mechanical or physical variances or damages.
  • Electrical inspection shall be carried out for the proper parameters.
  • Passive components shall be tested for their correctness of value within the permissible tolerance and marking.
  • Active components shall be checked for their marking and performance.
  • All bare PCB’s shall be checked for continuity test using magnifying glass and multimeter.
  • All defective items shall be returned to the vendors with the inspection report for replacement.
  • All accepted components shall be stored with the inspection report.
Material Storage and Handing
  • All materials accepted by quality control department shall be stored in the dust proof conditions, with proper identification marks for easy retrieval.
  • Adequate precautions are taken for storing all items for anti-corrosion.
  • All items are identified as per the part numbers indicated in the part list.
  • Proper material handling precautions shall be observed.
Assembly and Testing

For production the work order is raised from the production manager, the concerned operator raised material requisition slip, gets it authorized and submits it to the stores. The stores issues materials and components to the operator.On completion of the job (PCB assemblies or modules), the operatorshall hand over the completed job work to the Quality Control Department.

The Quality Control Department will check the quality of work done by individual operations.

Visual Inspection shall be carried out for the following

  • Correct placement and values of components
  • Proper soldering
  • Polarity check for polarized components

Instruments used for checking (cold check)

  • Magnifying glass
  • Multimeter

Electrical Inspection

The calibrated instruments used for checking (Hot check) are:

  • Oscilloscope
  • Signal generator
  • DC power supply
  • Voltmeter
  • Dummy load

The following checks shall be carried out on each PCB Assembly.

  • Type tests of individual PCB or modules enclosed.
  • Proper records of the test resultsare maintained in quality control department.
  • Electrical inspection shall be carried out as above after the elevated Temperature test.
  • On completion of testing of individual PCB assembly or modules, the accepted materials shall be store credited and rejected materials shall be sent back to the concerned operator for rework.

Mechanical assembly of PCB’s on the chassis

Mechanical assembly of PCB’s on chassis shall be carried out by mechanical section after getting a separate work order and simultaneously receiving materials from stores through Materials Requisition.

Equipment wiring

On completion of the mechanical assembly, the job work shall be handed over to the wiring section for carrying out the internal wiring of the particular equipment as per wiring diagram.

On completion of the wiring of equipment’s, the equipment’s shall be handed over to the quality control for final check. Following tests are carried out:

Visual Inspection of Finished Goods

Following items are required for cold check:

  • Multimeter
  • Magnifying glass Wiring of the said equipment’s is checked for its conformity as per the wiring drawings and for proper ferruling.

Electrical Inspection of Finished Goods

Following Calibrated Instruments are required for Hot Check.

  • Oscilloscope
  • Signal generator
  • DC power supply
  • Voltmeter
  • Dummy load

Comprehensive check shall be carried out as per the testing procedure. All test procedure shall be determined and issued by R&D department. The records shall be maintained by quality control department for three years.

Soak Test

  • Soak Test for the equipment’s is carried out for 24 hours by keeping the equipment’s ON and checking the performance.
  • On completion of the testing of equipment’s, the equipment’s shall be given serial number and handed over to the Mechanical department for final fitments.
Customer Support

An experienced customer support engineers and technicians from Customer support department shall provide customer support during warranty period and post warranty period.
